Avery via Payne

Done recently for an illustration class, this was a 'test patch,' or practice piece. My daughter, Avery, done in the method of master illustrator C. F. Payne. Basically, it is a multistaged process involving acrylic/gesso, watercolor, oil and colored pencil, each layer sealed by a photographer's lacquer. Below you see aging and cracking varnish applied.
