When I bought David Sylvian's "Dead Bees on a Cake," I wasn't prepared for the beauty that I would hear.
I had several of his previous releases, which I liked in varying degrees, but nothing like the experience this cd gave me. It was incredible...I played it endlessly, and still play it frequently. Gorgeous smooth deep vocals, incredible layered middle eastern melodies...Ingrid's soothing speaking voice....it's all there and so much more.
This is truely a transcendant batch of songs...with the exception of one or two that are somewhat dissonant (possibly due to the influence of sometime collaborator Robert Fripp).
Incredible.
