Duncan Sheik is pretty much alone in the type of music he writes; an orchestral, subdued and very literate wash of beauty. He's also a darn nice guy, as my wife and I found out when we met him after a show on the tour for "Humming," his second release. There is a new one, "White Limousine," on it's way any day now.

I gave him the piece you see on the right, and after the show, got the obligatory fanboy photograph. What a dork (me, that is)! He also was nice enough to play his wonderful song dedicated to Jeff Buckley.

I also ended up loving his warm up band, Hooverphonic, a sort of techno Cocteau Twins.
