Though I've never really gotten into Wall of Voodoo, I've always loved Stan Ridgway. There really is no one like him. His wacky vocal delivery (toned down somewhat on his last two releases, deemed a bit more personal in nature), the twangy guitars and off beat subject matter have always appealed to me.
He really has not made a bad album, through 6 or 7 solo albums, one Drywall band release, even soundtrack work, he always delivers. Song for song, I think I like "Mosquitos" best, but it really is a fine line..."Big Heat" is great, as is the newest proper studio album, "Anatomy." New as of very recently is a collection of outtakes, so to speak...also darn spiffy.
