Along with Prefab Sprout, The Blue Nile makes pop music for adults. The first two albums ("Across the Rooftops" and "Hats") were a little more orchestral and synth-laden than the following one, "Peace At Last". In fact, when I heard they were going more acoustic with this one, I was a bit worried. I needn't have been, the songs remain beautiful, sometimes melancholy, always literate and mindful of the responsibilites of adults along with the joy of romance and family. There is also the newest one, "High," continuing the run of gorgeous releases.
