Possessing one of the sweetest voices in music, Karen Peris (think of a cross between the Sundays and Texas), along with the band, make gorgeous music. Many of the lyrics deal with the joy of family, as well as the pitfalls, and many songs have sort of a northeastern catholic slant to them.
If you like the sound of the Sundays and the Cocteau Twins, I think you'll
like the Mission. The latest in wide release is called "Birds of my Neighborhood,"
and is as gorgeous as any previous release. There is also a spiritual recent
release, "Christ in my Hope," which is also great. These seem a
little less filled with Cocteau Twins like guitars, and more acoustic based.
