Lisa Germano occupies a niche that is not very crowded. She's on the 4AD label, with bands like the Cocteau Twins and although she sometimes shares that treated guitar sound, the lyrics are like few others. Cynical of love and all its traps and trappings, and sometimes down right horrific, it grabs your attention.

Get "Happiness" and "Geek the Girl," my favorites, there being three others available as well. A new one just came out called "Songs of Liquid Pig," and continues the atmospheric catalog with pride and guts.
